Center on Aging Research Retreat A Success

The CoA 2010 Research Retreat wrapped-up successfully, thanks to all who participated in this year's event March 9 and 10. Tuesday evening kicked-off with a reception and poster session where just over 20 posters were displayed, and about 50 attendees mingled, enjoying food, drinks, music and discussion.

Wednesday morning, Timothy Smeeding, PhD, from the Institute for Research on Poverty, University of Wisconsin-Madison, presented his keynote address "Policy Analysis and Entitlement Programs for Older Americans: Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security" to a crowd of about 60, followed by a panel discussion including Dr. David Sundwall, Executive Director, Utah Department of Health, and Dr. Richard Sperry, Director, Matheson Center for Health Care Studies. Presentations by the 2009 pilot grant recipients followed.
